Spotlight: Real Madrid x Y3
In my last blog post, I asked the question, whether we would see brands enter the pitch? Evidently, that seems to be the case; the collaboration between Y-3 and Real Madrid is a perfect example of this.
Coming off of last year’s collaboration, celebrating Real Madrid’s 120th year Anniversary, the duo are back again with an incredible offering, combining the expertise of a renowned fashion brand in Y3, and with the rich history and legacy of Real Madrid, they have created a collection that captures the essence of both worlds. Everything about this launch hit the nail on the head, from the photo teaser of Jude Bellingham and Zinedine Zidane sat side-by-side, to the film launch directed by Gabriel Moses, plus, the collection, itself, did not disappoint. Not only was there an on-pitch offering but the off-pitch offering consisted of a travel collection, designed with the usual Y-3 minimalistic touch, intertwined with the Real Madrid crest. The Real Madrid legacy is not long lost within this collaboration, as Zinedine Zidane has been a brand ambassador for both the club and Y-3.
Therefore, with their brand campaign, connecting the past to the present and showing Bellingham and Zidane together further gives credibility behind this partnership. The success of this collaboration sets a precedent for future partnerships between football clubs and fashion brands, opening up new possibilities for creative collaborations and innovative designs.
